I don't think it can be done in the car, top removal is simple.
I used a needle and thread, actually 2 needles, 1 inside and 1 outside. The speedy stitcher looks like it would be much better.
Looks like good work! We did leave the top on the car, and worked in/out. The speedy stitcher is quite handy! I've done some heavy canvas, sails, other items with it. Hoping it tightens a bit more, but honestly the top is almost never up
