Indeed OEM parts for Boxster are more expensive that other comparable cars. You can always go with aftermarket.

Reliability?
I am not sure about this one.
I had mine for almost 3 years and it never failed me. I did not put many miles as I was doing some projects on it.

Most repairs are DIY type. Some need more skills than others.
However, after all, it is just a car.
