Boxster Purchase

As I see, this isn't actually a new topic: I am considering purchasing a Boxster but have some misgivings. I am currently a 2015 Mazda MX-5 Grand Touring owner and have been happy with the car, but would like something a bit more comfortable and have wanted a Boxster for a long time. I have seen several polls that rate the Boxster as highly expensive to maintain with relatively low reliability. I do the usual maintenance, such as oil changes, brake replacements, belt replacements, etc.,on my cars myself and would hope to continue to do so with a Boxster, not only to save money but because I enjoy it. So, is a Boxster relatively easy to work on oneself? Are they expensive to maintain and should repair above usual maintenance be expected, and if so, are there common problems that occur? My MX-5 has been virtually problem free for the 8 years I have owned it, and I have a 2006 Chrysler Sebring convertible that I have had since new that I've done a lot of repair work on during its 277,000 plus miles without needing to take it in for expensive shop work. Can I expect the same from a Boxster? Any insight or suggestions from actual owners will be welcomed.
