He seemed satisfied. He works for a high end dealer in KC and the plan is to resell it. Their current inventory hosts 3-4 911 turbos that are 1-2 yrs old and some older air cooled Porsches. He thought this one would slot nicely in between and fill out the hole in their inventory. Hey, if they think there's some meat left on the bone, more power to them. Love capitalism. And as a dealer they can offer financing and take trade-ins, so there might be a few more bights on the bone.

My initial contact was with one of the owners of the dealership via text. Couple of red flags were raised - she said her name was Madison and she asked for the VIN. Both typical scammer props. I texted her back that I'd give 'her' the VIN if she called (scammers never call). She immediately called and we laughed about how scammers opperate. I offered to send her my CarFax but she wanted to run one herself, so I texted her the VIN. She said she'd look at the reports and call me back with an offer. At this point I figured she'd come back with a wholesale or trade-in offer and we'd be done as I wouldn't sell it for that. That's typically how my interactions with dealers go. But she called back with a very good offer. I said I'd contact the owner and see what he wanted to do. She then added there might be some addl room. I contacted the owner and said it was a decent offer but I'd like to counter offer $1500 higher and see if we could meet at $1K higher. He was good with the $1K higher so I called the lady back. She took my $1500 extra counter offer.

It took about 10 days from signing papers to getting a date set up for them to pick it up. There were a few times when we wondered if the sale was going thru, as several proposed pick up dates would come and go, but it all worked out. The salesman who picked it up said they liked the options, color, and miles on this one. And as clean as it is, it shouldn't take them long to get it ready to sell. They already have it listed on their website, just no pics yet.

Nice ppl and it ended up being a relatively painless transaction. I may have found a mkt for future Wheeler Dealer Porsches. We'll see...

And one final thought. I advertise my cars on 4 different Porsche specific websites, as well as 3 Craigslist locations (OMA, KC, & Denver) and FaceBook. 90% or more of my sales go thru CL. Ppl dog CL but it works for me.

Now on to the next Wheeler Dealer find.
