Relays do go bad.
one of the things that can happen is......
The points in them carbon up or burn.
That causes resistance ...resistance causes heat.
They get where they don't work when they get hot.
Not common but it happens.
I think that type of relay is not expensive.
Change it out and see what happens.
Keep my posted always interested in solutions.
