That guy removed all of the plastic lining in the wheel wells, so he had to. -Yeah, it makes it a little bit more easy, but adds some time to the project and I didn't find it neccesary at all. You do need to jack the car up though.
Removing the bumper is suprisingly easy. It's basically a bunch of small screws. Then it slides straight forward and off. Just as easy to put back on. It's totally possible to do with 1 person, but a have a second person handy for simplicity's sake.
