Thinking about installing a 160 thermostat on my 98 986 but a little concerned about smog because it's pre-2000 and still needs to be sniffed.

From research and experience, I know an engine pollutes a lot more when the engine is cold or cooler.

Anyone in CA with a pre-2000 986 and 160 degree thermostat passing smog no problem???
