The check engine light may or may not be related to the IMS swap . My hunch is that it is a coincidence . You should be able to purchase a decent quality code reader for $100.00 or less . They are great tools to assist with diagnosis for your Porsche or any other car you own .

As previously stated get the code/s and post them on here . That will make the long distance troubleshooting effort easier and more effective . I am curious , the shop that did the IMS bearing for you they can't spare 5 minutes time to discuss this issue with you ? And read the codes for you ?
