Searching on Rennlist let me to a thread that mentioned a thread here that had a link to a walkthrough
The reason I defaulted back to "idiot with an impact" is I've found broken fasteners all over this car. Over torqued, cross threaded, wrong fasteners etc.
They even used construction glue to affix the trim piece for the mirror switch (which they mounted upside down) that leaked all the way down the door card which they had broken half the fasteners on including ripped in half the bracket for the screw behind the "Airbag" tag.
So yeah. Thinking whoever had this before needed a class in mechanical sympathy.
