My mind is not made up yet, but I know I don't need to get something I don't need simply cause someone else is saying that is what I need. I will either stick with my 986 or trade it for a 996. People seem to think going from a 986 to a 996 is like stepping from a go cart into a 78 town car. That's just not the case (at least not with the 991s I've driven and others I've talked to that owned 996s)

If that's the case, then

A 989 is more nimble and frankly more fun to drive than a 996

The 996 does have ~60 more HP than a 986s which is really nice, but the 996 feels heavier.

For just having fun I would keep the 986
