Well he asked if there's replacement options...too bad Sierra Madre hasn't figured out to copy a US lens. I imagine they'd corner the market on replacement lens in the USA.

Find good used halogens and replace, open your wallet and buy used litronics, buy those Extreme Motorcar lights (paging Particlewave for his opinion on them...
) or crack them open and retro fit.
I'm planning the retrofit myself. Damned DRLs.
And I agree with you...its doubtful you could polish that out, but has anyone even tried?
