The mask is NOT to protect YOU, it's to protect PEOPLE AROUND YOU from your spittle and vapors when you speak. So it's like smoking in a public space. You can't do it, but you can smoke in the privacy of your own home as much as you want.
So you still have the right to be as stupid and self-destructing as you want. But you don't have the right to endanger others.
Now seat belts? If you had a similar beef with seat belt laws I'd understand your gripe. As long as you made sure that kids, who have no understanding of the risks, are buckled up properly.
