MA / NH new Porsche owner

After about 7 months of searching for the right car to fill "that void," and here I am with an '03 986 S. Not as talented as some when it comes to DIY maintenance as some here, but so glad for the resources and information to learn from. Already want to at least clean out the radiators.

Owned a Suzuki VZ 800 Marauder back in 1997-2007. Call it a mid-life-crisis, call it realizing waiting any longer to drive something fun is stupid. Started by comparing what I assume are some of the usual suspects (370Z, Miata, Z4, BRZ, and of course Boxsters). Loved the profile of the 370Z, but mostly the hardtop, not the a convertible, which became a must-have. Z4 seemed to lack personality, storage, and community. I liked the Miata, but brother inherited one & I'm not a follower (but maybe for a RF - don't kick me off the board yet!).

The combination of timeless design, curves, power, mid-engine, the potential to maybe track someday, and community narrowed it down to a Boxster. Had to be manual. Had to be black. '02s-some '05s were in my price range. (Was hoping for tan interior, but hey, good to have something to look forward to on the next one!)

Quickly realized a private sale with good history was much safer than a dealer. I visited some that I immediately walked away from thanks to what I learned on forums.
PPI came back clean, but 1st hard drive revealed some oil at what looked like oil filler tube. Porsche Nashua, who performed the PPI, offered replacement of tube, AOS & filter case for parts only - no labor charge.

Now I'm practicing social distancing with the 2 seater whenever I can. Snapped this pic on the way home yesterday.
