When I get another engine back into the car, maybe I'll tear the block down and see what kind of damage complete oil starvation does to an M96 engine  I guess my question would be if the camshaft/head cover journals are damaged or still usable. There was certainly a heavy rod knock and low oil pressure light.

Usually the rod bearings are the 1st to go followed by the crankshaft rod surfaces soon after. Good crankshafts are getting hard to find & expensive.
