It’s a 5 speed. A real garage queen. Not a nick or dent anywhere. Cars need to be driven. Sitting has a lot of adverse effects on a car. In any case it will have to go to the shop and I’ll have them go though and look for anything else that a car that has low miles might have. I did stop at the local Porsche specialist to make an appointment after I bought the car and wanted to see if they could find the squealing problem. But the first thing the mechanic asked me was about the IMS bearing. As far as I know it’s still the original, he said I should replace it right away. With everything I’ve read the 1999 had less of a failure rate. I’m sure I will replace the IMS bearing when I do the clutch, but right now I just want to drive the thing. I’m a little hesitant to use this shop but they do come highly recommend. Like I said the E brake makes the most sense, the cable might not be releasing completely or the brake shoe springs might be sticking. I will dive it today and get to the bottom of all this. I really appreciate all the input.
