For best results, you really need to submerge the board in at least 90% isopropyl alcohol for a good 10-20 minutes, then remove and let dry.
Water can get into the relays on the board and regular drying won't get it out. The contacts inside will rust and corrode. Better to displace that water with alcohol that will evaporate quickly and not corrode or rust.
