Best bet is to get a Durametric as it reads most of the Porsche specific codes and gives you errors in real english. A regular OBDII reader won't give you a lot of error codes that the DME can generate

The Bentley is pretty good for troubleshooting most things. I don't know of any other repair guides that are better other than the factory one. You may find one online
