If you are not tracking your future Boxster, you do not need Sport Chrono. It would not be effective for just driving on winding roads.

Please let us know what model years you're looking at. That will help us give you a better answer. I believe a 6spd was available on late 987.1 base models and may have been std on the 987.2 base manual.
