It is quite simple as long as you get the correct year 996 cluster (this depends on the year of your boxster) and make sure it isn't a cluster from a C4 or Turbo. I added the gauges when I did my swap. All you need is to add a single pin to one connector and run it to the 996 oil sender and all the functions on the 996 cluster will work.
