FWIW, I just put the Firestone's on my new to me 2001 Boxster S.

I tracked a '99 996 for several years. Not the exact same experience, but close enough to comment. Coming in off the track, you want to shoot for around 40PSI.

Unless you are running in PCA Green group, these tires will suck. If you are blue or better, get something like a Bridgestone RE-71 or Hankook R-S4. They will handle track temps and be a lot more fun.
