Post CPO or No CPO

I'm considering a 2003 or newer Boxster S. How important is getting one that is Certified Pre-Owned vs. one that is not? Or with a remaining warranty?

I have the option of buying from dealer auctions or from dealers. Obviously dealers can offer CPO. And how much of a premium does CPO usually add?

I'm trying to get a sense of how reliable these cars are. How risky is it to not have CPO or warranty? It will be a third car but driven about 75% of the time.
