My wife’s Cayman had 91K miles at purchase, mine had 76K miles.

I always thought that the Cayman was just a Boxster with a tin top. It’s not. It’s more refined and quieter. The response to steering input is more direct. It has more mechanical grip. Plus, it’s faster than the Boxster.

The Boxster is more “fun” because one experiences more stimuli when driving it. With the top down, one has an “al fresco” experience. Even with the top up, there is more ambient noise to stimulate the driver. And chucking the Boxster into a corner and sorting it all out when you get there is more than just stimulating.

Now, I’m probably not comparing apples to apples, as the Boxster is a 986, and the Cayman is a 987, and certainly the technology changed in the 9 years from the introduction of the Boxster to the release of the Cayman.

Just sayin’……………
