My first car, an Austin Marina.

It was a simple sedan Box with 4 wheels and a manual choke lever, because it did not run well cold and all the instructions were in British so I learned about boots, facias, spanners and other obscure sounding things.

The only memorable thing about it was that the heater failed in a Canadian Winter snow storm and I ended up with frostbite on my toes and had to reach outside the window with a squeegee while driving to clear the window.

I think it was actually blowing cold outside air on my feet but I could not get heat or the vent to change.

One day I decided I needed more trunk space and had no qualms about taking a torch to the back seat frame and cutting it out to make a pseudo hatch back out of it.

I eventually sold it as scrap metal which made me quite happy.

All my other cars gave me fond memories but that Austin was one worthy of being forgettable.
