I've removed all the nuts from the lid, including the two in the center. It would appear that it would just lift/pop out. The exact opposite. I've tried tugging... pulling... and when I got to prying with the screwdriver I thought I'd better turn to minds far sharper than mine.

Is there a seal behind the lid that, maybe, snugs it into place? Should I just grab a corner and pull with all might? It's like there's a force pulling in into the engine compartment.

I'm not in a pinch... just wanted to take a peek at the belt and other components.
