I'm with particlewave on this one - if it were me I'd use Permatex Black Silicone Adhesive Sealant - the stuff works great, handles heat and vibration. I'm currently using it to hold my passenger headlight corner piece in...

But if you can get an inexpensive used replacement, that might be a good move too...
