I would rock 'em until you get to the cord.

(Which won't be steel on the Hoosier, but rather, some sort of textile.). Have fun - even heat cycled out Hoosier will have more grip than anything actually designed for the street.

They will wear out really fast, though, so no long-distance trips. Stay away from wet/rain.
