The one on the left looks just like an updated version with beneficial features. Sharper Radii on the mating surface, safety pin, less risk of clashing with a larger variety with discs because its slightly trimmed. The manufacturing holes 3 divets are in similar location.
Btw about the pagid pads, were you using the OE brake pad dampener?

Additional pictures. Yes, the OE dampers are there on both calipers - once the rotors are warmed up a bit, the Pagid pads did not squeal.
