I checked what I've got, and found OEM brands Elring and Victor-Reinz for the manifold-to-head and manifold-to-triangle flanges had similar, embossed 1-layer stainless steel construction:
Probably the best thing you can do to get these to seal is to make sure the sealing surfaces (on both sides) are perfectly clean and flat.
If additional compliance were important, the gaskets could have been designed to use multiple layers, which is called multi-layer-steel (MLS) gasket. MLS gaskets are very effective for reliable head gasket seals. They can seal a lot of pressure, while maintaining compliance as the surfaces expand and contract through temperature changes.
