Let's be specific ? Did they 'open' the hydraulic system at all ?
If the answer is Yes ,then let's do the simplest and most obvious things first?
1.Is the slave cylinder installed correctly. If you Search you'll find some people have had difficulty re-installing it into the bellhousing. That may have prompted your mechanic to disconnect the hydraulic line to force it in ?
2. Bleed the system using a power bleeder. You may have to do this many times. Ramps + a Motive bleeder or better still on a rack. I had to do mine maybe 5 times to get all the air out after a long engine rebuild.It seemed like a waste because after the first few sessions I saw very few bubbles. Perseverance and manic attention to perfection in bleeding details eventually triumphed.
