Wrong. Mileage errors on the cluster are not uncommon and More is not trying to do anything "fishy".

And the OBC (on board computer) is in the cluster. The mileage is stored there (and possibly the ECU
and immobilizer).
Try disconnecting the cluster for a few minutes and see if that helps.
