Remember that if you ever sell the car the only ethical thing is to disclose that you had this accident. And if you don't have a body shop do the repair you also need to disclose that. I can tell you that I would never buy a car that had been in an accident and hadn't been checked and repaired professionally.
I have had accidents where there was next to no visible outside damage, but required thousands of dollars of repair.
