My water pump started leaking and making noise. Drained the coolant to replace the water pump and thermostat. Coolant now is a brown orange color and not clear. Doesn't appear to be any oil floating on top. Just replaced and flushed the coolant 1500 miles ago. Need direction on why coolant is so discolored. Would the failing water pump cause this? There was some breakage at the ends of the impeller and the water pump bearing is almost seized. What needs to be checked out about the coolant color before installing new pump and thermostat?
