I fit in a Boxster immediately. I don't fit in either the S2000 or the Miata. Arms and sight line through the windshield header. Tried them. Probably both cheaper to maintain on average than a Boxster but felt cramped to the point where I never bothered to drive them. OTOH, the 986 was comfortable and as a daily driver practical.
I was 6', 180 pounds so by no means was I outsized.
