Yes I did it myself, it was really easy, I did not have to remove the door panels, I popped the original woofer grills, unscrew the little woofers, cut a moon shape piece off the plastic enclosure to make room for the big 6x9 magnet and mounted the new speakers with a 1/2" spacer that I fabbed, in reality I don't think I needed the spacers but I had them and installed them anyway, I do not have the bose system, my car came with the crappy cdr-20 unit, the two door woofers, the paper dash speakers and the super low powered nokia amp, at this point all of that is gone, now I have an in dash tablet, an audiobahn amp, the two 6x9 3 way kenwood speakers in the doors and two 4" upgraded dash speakers (I don't remember the brand but they are 150 watt and were about 60 bucks, the bass output of the 6x9 is that good that I decided not to install a kicker subwoofer in the footwell.
