Whaaaaat? A 15-yr old Porsche with an oil burning smell?

All kidding aside, it could be perfectly normal (and definitely not unheard of) but I'd get up under the car and do a good inspection just to be sure. You could have a seeping RMS, spark plug tube, or any of several other places are known to weep/seep/drip oil.

Also be sure to check the top of the engine for power steering fluid; sometimes a power steering line will start to leak and it drips on top of the engine (under the intake manifold) and then burns off so it never drips. Usually people smell an oil smell for months until the power steering pump starts to moan when they turn tightly. Then they check the power steering fluid to find it mostly empty due to a leak in a line.
