SDR is one of the most active PCA regions and puts on some of the best events in the country

Yes, IMHO it is well worth traveling a bit for the PDS. You will not only have too much fun (as Tom mentioned), you will leave with amazing confidence on driving your car. It is more than just a car control clinic. You get lots of 1 on 1 instruction from some of the best instructors anywhere.

Friday night is a 2-3 hour classroom chalk talk that goes over the mechanics of driving and what will be covered on Sat and Sun. All day Sat are driving exercises including a lot of time on a wet skid pad as well as things like threshold braking. On Sunday you put it all together with a non-competitive autocross designed by some of the best AX course designers around. You also get to ride in the instructors cars including some full race prepped cars.

Both my Wife and son will be taking the PDS this time as it it so worthwhile.
