I have sent back paint work many times. If you paid a lot they should have done a better match.
That being said, silver is tough. I've had front and rear bumpers painted maybe six or seven times since racking up 90K miles.
But I've never had that dramatic a difference as you have there.
There is no messing with camera settings here.
Just a cheap point and shoot Minolta in day light and a night time shot.
Front bumper and skirting was painted locally, not at the factory.
