I can say this because I have worked at Chrysler (although no longer employed there).

I wasn't an engineer, but had lots of buddies who were, and the old saying was:

"Most Chrysler products will run badly longer than most cars run at all"

That Neon will run forever my friend.

Speaking of Neon's this is a hilarious article from the late 90's about a group of guys who rented one for $20 and it took it drag racing. If you have time for a quick read, I guarantee you'll laugh. Link below.
