Well I have both a 04 986 S and a 04 996 Targa.
Both are great cars. While I like the extra 60 or so HP in the 996, I prefer to drive the Boxster. I find it more fun to drive, handles better and hell, nothing beats a ragtop in San Diego.
When I do back road drives with the local PCA club, I have no problem keeping up with and sometimes crawling up the ass of 911's. Sure on the straights, they pull away, but as soon as we get into the twisties, my little Boxster shines
