Something you should be keenly aware of is the weight of the new wheels and rubber compared to your old ones, especially if you have to use spacers to get them to fit.

I have discovered the expensive way that fitting bigger heavier 18 inch rims on my 97 made it look great, but wore out the suspension parts prematurely not once but twice. And now I wonder what damage I've done to my wheel bearings with the extra weight on the hub.

Temper this comment with the fact that I bought aftermarket wheels and I think they're quite a bit heavier than factory Porsche wheels.
