Add me to the list of people who's car does not do that. As soon as I turn the key the dial points to just over 4/4.
I have found it quizzical that the gauge drops from full to 3/4s really quick then the rate of drop slows for the next two quarters of the tank.
I always fill up before the light even comes on if not right after, but it worries me that the guage moves quick at both the bottom end and top.
