The boxster is coming up on 20 soon. And has all the other modern Porsche's beat. Including the lineage of watercooled 911s by a year.

So if something lasted longer then it is already killed.

The 928 was around for a very long time, late 70s to mid 90s. However it's hard to believe that the difference between the 70s to 90s is the same difference from the late 90s to now.

928 was 77 to 95

Boxster 97 to 15

One could argue however that the 924 944 and maybe even 968 lineage is as similar as a 986 and 981.
