It is easily a DIY project. Here is a link from Pelican Parts.

check this link out

Porsche 986 Boxster Instrument Control Panel Cluster Unit 2002 2004 Tiptronic | eBay

this fits 100% BUT what do they mean that the cluster has 110 k miles? will show the cluster milage or mine milage?
I bought my 996 cluster from the same eBay vendor - qualityporscheparts. IMHO, they are great. I have bought several items from them.

The odometer can be sent in to have the miles reset to your cars. I used ODO-PRO.COM - Odo-Pro.com - The Digital Odometer Professionals.

I also added a leather cluster surround.

Here is a breakdown of my cost;

996 X71 Instrument Cluster* $250.00
996 Leather Surround $85.00
996 Hazard Button $20.53
Oil Sender $56.63
Wires $17.10
Re-Set Odometer $89.00

Total $518.26

*X71 Aluminum Face was an $855 Option in 2003
