I believe that it will work. Before you buy it I would check the plugs on the back of your unit to varifiy they are the same color as the ones on the unit on eBay. However, you are going from a 2004 to a 2002 unit. I wouldn't be surprised if they made some cosmetic changes to the digital display. I would also figure another $100 to have the odometer reading changed to your Boxsters.

I agree with emore93.... shop around and find an aluminum (white) faced 2002/2004 996 cluster and install one of those. I did it and it was a tad over $500 all in as a DIY project.
