IMS on a 06 Cayman is not as much of a worry as with the prior Boxster. Cylinder scoring on the other hand is a real issue with the Gen 1 Caymans. If you have any plans to track the Gen 1 Cayman I would educate myself fully these cars have many weak spots and require $$$ to address.
