I had similar experiences but I have learn to avoid them. I owned my first Porsche(Boxster) at 26 . Now at 35 I have a couple of Porsches.
Listen, you will face many situation like this in life with a Porsche. Just plan ahead and use your common sense. e.g. Don't park you car in the Bronx or don't let your girlfriend drive your car. etc, etc.
