Why are the maintenance cost estimates from Edmunds so far off? I keep hearing people say that the 60,000 mile service costs anywhere from $600 to $1200, yet Edmunds claims it's around $400. I remember having the 30,000 mile service done on my Prelude and it cost around $350. Edmunds estimates $ 260. That's still off but it's like they are quoting a price that was 1/3 what I actually paid.

I guess I'm also wondering why there is such variance in price between different dealers if the same basic service is performed?
