^I prefer the 986, but the 987 rear end is much nicer. The front end that struck me as too Japanese looking for me has grown on me a bit. I still like the GT1 fried egg lights better, provided they have the Particle Wave/Nine8Six re-do with the black housing. Part of me thinks the 987 for the money, is going to age a lot better than a stock looking 986 with small wheels, no aero and bare bones interior. That's not how the brilliant designers intended it to look when the concept car was unveiled.
Which by the way you should see in the latest issue of Excellence Magazine. They have a fantastic two page photo of the concept car that is frame-worthy. According to the article the car was initially called the Porsche Spyder which later became the "Boxster" once the marketing guys got involved. Butzi Porsche apparently kept trying to water down the design so that it would look more like the 964/993 and not look so cutting edge in comparison.
