The different generations of DT40 are all compatible, so crossing them in the engine is fine.

That said, DT40 was NEVER developed for track usage, be it AX, DE or etc. We have developed XP5, XP7 and XP9 for those roles. These XP oils should always be used on the track, under all circumstances.

There's been a total of 5 different generations of DT40, the bottle doesn't always change with a reformulation.
