While I like your idea, P-Wave....I'm not sure I want to be looking in my rearview mirror for my map!

For some reason I have an aversion to window-mounted units/suction cups. I use an old Dell Streak 5-inch 'phablet' for GPS, using the NavFree app which includes all offline maps and eliminates any 4G/data requirements, and lets the battery last most of the day. In the event of traffic, I turn on the hotspot on my regular phone for updates/reroutes via wifi. I also use the Bluetooth occasionally for ODB info, but not regularly.

I have mine mounted in the cupholder in my '03. The positioning is pretty good, but I'd like to rig up something more permanent that attaches somewhere underneath the pod cover, near the hazard switch.
